DETENTION
Detention shall be activities, assignments, or work held before the normal school day, after the normal school day, or on weekends as assigned by the principal or his/her designee. The assignment of a student to detention shall be made by the principal or his/her designee. Such assignments include but are not limited to counseling, home assignments, behavior modification programs, or other activities aimed at improving the self-esteem of the student.
The time, place, supervision, appropriate student behavior, and the specific tasks of the student assigned to detention will be the responsibility of the principal or his/her designee.
The principal or his/her designee shall make the determination as to whether the student will or will not receive credit for any work assigned to the student during detention.
Should a student fail to participate in or comply fully with the rules for detention, he/she shall be subject to immediate suspension.
