ANNUAL LEAVE

 

 

Beginning July 1, 2013, all twelve-month full-time employees of the Sabine Parish School Board shall earn annual leave at the rate of one (1) day per month.  An eligible employee shall have worked as a twelve-month employee for thirty (30) days in order to earn annual leave.

 

No employee shall be allowed to accumulate more than twenty (20) days annual leave.  If an employee has accumulated twenty (20) days, monthly accrual shall cease until less than twenty (20) days is in the employee’s annual leave account.

 

Employees shall submit a Request for Annual Leave form to their supervisor and receive written approval prior to taking annual leave. 

 

Twelve-month teachers and/or school level employees shall use annual leave when school is not in session and a substitute is not required, with the exception of two (2) days which may be used during term for personal reasons.  In the event of an emergency situation, the principal and Superintendent may approve the use of annual leave.

 

Any unused annual leave paid at the time of retirement, termination or discharge shall be paid to the employee or his/her heirs on or before the next regular payday for the pay cycle during which the employee was working at the time of separation or no later than fifteen (15) days following the date of separation, whichever occurs first, at the employee's daily rate of pay.
