PERSONNEL RULES OF CONDUCT
Employees of the Sabine Parish School Board shall be expected to follow these listed rules:
Use or possession of alcohol at work, coming to work under the influence of alcohol, or absences due to the influence of alcohol shall be prohibited.
Use or possession of illegal drugs or sale or distribution of such drugs shall be prohibited.
No employee shall remove property of the Sabine Parish School Board or other employees without authorization.
Employees shall be expected to perform reasonable requests of supervisory personnel.
Employees shall be expected to perform work satisfactorily.
Employees shall be expected to show proper interest in application to their work.
Employees shall not spread malicious rumors or gossip.
No employee shall falsify employment applications or other agency records.
Employees shall avoid excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
Employees shall arrive on or prior to the time designated by their principal or supervisor. Failure to do so shall result in the employee being recorded as tardy or absent.
No employee shall fight or attempt to injure other persons.
Employees shall be prohibited from willful destruction of School Board property or the property of others.
Employees shall not leave their work stations without legitimate reason or permission of supervisor, or without proper relief during their absence.
Each employee required to sign in daily shall do so.
Employees required by law to have medical examinations shall do so.
Any employee who becomes ill while on duty shall report directly to his/her supervisor prior to leaving.
Employees shall dress appropriately to produce the proper learning atmosphere for the children of Sabine Parish.
Employees shall not use or allow another person to use a school computer, printer or the internet during the school day for the purpose of completing college course work or other personal use.
Employee may use a school computer, printer or the Internet after school hours for the purpose of completing college course work.
Instructional technology components cannot be removed from the school for personal use.
Employees are prohibited from completing college course work for another person.
In fulfilling the obligations of the position to the students, the public, and their profession, teachers shall:
Be friendly, concerned and willing to give extra time to counsel with students about educational as well as personal and related problems.
Use professional skill and understanding to prevent small classroom incidents from becoming major problems.
Deal justly and impartially with all students under their supervision.
Exhaust all possible means of solving problems within their area of responsibility.
Organize their work in a manner that will encourage students' interest and involvement for the full period of instruction.
Be loyal to the Sabine Parish School Board, principal, and the school to which they have been assigned.
Be responsible for solving routine problems and holding conferences with parents concerning problems encountered by their children.
Be present and responsible for starting and ending classes on time.
Be responsible for the supervision of all students and correcting misbehavior wherever it may occur.
Abide by the accountability guidelines as adopted by the Sabine Parish School Board.
SCHOOL BUS OPERATORS
In addition to the rules of conduct listed for all employees hereinabove or in other policies of the Board, all school bus operators are expected to abide by and adhere to all policies as set forth in Bulletin 119, Louisiana School Transportation Specifications and Procedures, published by the Louisiana Department of Education.
