1. Meeting Opening:
The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on April 7, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present: Stacy Alford, Board President; Terrell Snelling, Board Vice President; Dr. Leah Byles, Kowonno Greene, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, Dean Johnson, Donald Remedies and John Stewart.
Absent: None.
At 5:30 p.m. the regular meeting of the board began with a Call to Order by President Stacy Alford. Josh Jenkins was called on to lead the Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.
2. Recognition of Visitors:
No visitors were recognized.
3. Consent Agenda:
On motion by Donald Remedies and second by Josh Jenkins, it was carried to approve and adopt the Consent Agenda as follows:
A. Approve and adopt the Regular Board Meeting Minutes of March 10, 2025;
B. Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for 10 ZES students and 3 adults to go to Downtown Aquarium in Houston, Texas on April 24, 2025;
C. Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for MHS and MJHS Band (approximately 25 students and 10 adults) to participate in the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution Celebration in Williamsburg, VA on April 8-14, 2026;
D. Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for Converse PreK to Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin, Texas on May 5, 2025;
E. Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for 66 FHS students and 7 adults to Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin, Texas on May 14, 2025;
F. Approve 2024-2025 Early Childhood Consolidated Application – Amendment #1;
G. Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3G.
4. Regular Agenda Items:
A. On motion by Donald Remedies and second by Dean Johnson, it was carried to approve and adopt a Resolution of No Objection to the donation of 30 acres from the SRA to the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb.

RESOLUTION OF NO OBJECTION
On Monday, April 7, 2025, the Sabine Parish School Board, State of Louisiana, met in open and regular session. The following resolution was offered by Donald Remedies and second by Dean Johnson.
WHEREAS, The Sabine Parish River Authority is proposing to donate thirty (30) acres of land to the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb, with the land being located in Sabine Parish, and
WHEREAS, the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb must first be recognized by the Federal Government before the State of Louisiana can move forward with the donation, and
WHEREAS, the State of Louisiana is requesting a “Resolution of No Objection” from the Sabine Parish Police Jury, Sabine Parish School District, and Sabine River Authority, and
WHEREAS, the Sabine Parish School District has no objection to the donation of thirty (30) acres of the land from the Sabine River Authority to the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sabine Parish School Board hereby approves the issuance of a “Resolution of No Objection” to the donation of thirty acres of land from the Sabine River Authority to the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb.
This resolution having been submitted to a vote; the vote thereon was as follows:
Yeas: 9 – Snelling, Remedies, Byles, Greene, Guidry, Stewart, Jenkins, Alford, Johnson
Nays: 0
Abstain: 0
Absent: 0
Therefore, the foregoing resolution was declared duly adopted on the 7th day of April 2025, at which meeting a quorum was present.

B. On motion by Kowonno Greene and second by Everett Guidry, it was carried to approve Out-of-State Field Trip with monetary assistance for 7 MHS FBLA students and 2 adults to compete at the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA June 27-July 3, 2025.
C. On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by Everett Guidry, it was carried to Approve award of the bus sales to highest bidder(s) as follows:

E. The Board received an informational update from Tene’ Leach, Director of Human Resources, regarding projected 2025-2026 staffing numbers. The Board took no action.
