1.    Meeting Opening:

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on December 9, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present:  Kowonno Greene, Board President; John Stewart, Board Vice President; Stacy Alford, Dr. Leah Byles, Josh Jenkins, Donald Remedies, Dale Skinner and Terrell Snelling.

Absent:  Everett Guidry

President Kowonno Greene called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Board Member Josh Jenkins led the invocation. 

2.    Recognition of Visitors: 

No visitors were present.  The Board did not hear the address requested by LaTisha Thomas regarding SPSB Discipline Policies.

3.    Consent Agenda:

On motion by Josh Jenkins and second by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve and adopt the Consent Agenda as follows:

A.   Approve and adopt the Regular Board Meeting Minutes of November 11, 2024;

B.   Approve and adopt the 2023-2024 Head Start Annual Report;

C.   Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for ZHS 8th-12th grade students (80 students, 10 adults) to Houston, Texas, December 10, 2024 as reward for 23-24 Master-Advance Leap Scores;

D.   Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3D.

4.    Regular Agenda Items:

A.   On motion by John Stewart and second by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to approve and adopt the following policies (second reading):

(1) CED, Employment of Superintendent

(2) GAK, Personnel Records

(3) GAMK, Use of Pronouns and Given Names

(4) GBC, Recruitment

(5) IDBA, Sex Education

(6) IDDF, Education of Students with Exceptionalities

(7) JGC, Student Health Services

B.   On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by John Stewart, it was carried to approve the authorization of the Superintendent to sign Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Louisiana Department of Treasury and the State of Louisiana.

C.   On motion by Terrell Snelling and second by John Stewart, it was carried to approve the Special Student Code of Conduct Committee as follows:

D.   Dewey Eaves presented the Board with new data and information regarding testing scores/grading for Sabine Parish Schools.  No action was required or taken.

5.    Superintendent’s Report:
