1.     Meeting Opening:

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on October 7, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present:  Kowonno Greene, Board President; John Stewart, Board Vice President; Stacy Alford, Dr. Leah Byles, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, and Donald Remedies, Dale Skinner and Terrell Snelling.

Absent:  None

President Kowonno Greene called the meeting to order.  Mr. Greene led the Pledge of Allegiance and then called upon Mr. Josh Jenkins to give the invocation.

2.     Recognition of Visitors:  None

3.     Consent Agenda:

On motion by Donald Remedies and second by Josh Jenkins, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

A.   Approve and adopt the Public Hearing Minutes and Regular Board Meeting Minutes of September 16, 2024;

B.    Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for Zwolle High School Students (eligible 7-12th graders) and 11 adults to go to Houston, Texas on October 25, 2024;

C.    Approve Out of State Field Trip for Negreet 2nd grade students (28) and 3 adults to go to Naranjo Museum in Lufkin, Texas on November 22, 2024;

D.   Approve the 2024-2025 High Dosage Tutoring Budget;

E.    Approve the Early Childhood Consolidated Application;

F.    Approve the Sabine Parish School Board Head Start Corrective Action Plan 2024-2025;

G.   Approve the MOU between Faithlynn’s Learning Academy and SPSB;

H.   Approve the 2024-2025 21st Century Learning Communities (PALS) Grant Budget Year 3;

I.      Approve the 2024-2025 LDOE PBIS Region 6 Budget;

J.    Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3J.

4.     Regular Agenda Items:

A.   On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by John Stewart, it was carried to adopt a Resolution to allow for and approve the Board President, Board Treasurer, and Board Secretary to sign Louisiana Audit Compliance Questionnaire as presented.

The following resolution was offered by Dr. Leah Byles and seconded by John Stewart:

RESOLUTION

              A resolution to allow for and approve the BOARD PRESIDENT, BOARD TREASURER AND BOARD SECRETARY to sign LOUISIANA AUDIT COMPLIANCE QUESTIONNAIRE AS PRESENTED

              BE IT RESOLVED by the Parish School Board of the Parish of Sabine, State of Louisiana (the "Governing Authority"), acting as the governing authority Sabine Parish School Board authorize THAT THE ABOVE MENTIONED INDIVIDUALS ARE DULY AUTHORIZED AND INSTRUCTED TO SIGN THE REFERENCED AUDIT COMPLIANCE QUESTIONNAIRE

B.    On motion by John Stewart and second by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve and award the bid of Zwolle High School Baseball Field Turf to GeoSurfaces, Inc., 7080 St Gabriel Ave., Ste. A, St. Gabriel, LA 70776 in the amount of $338,400.00.

C.    Presentation to the Board by Superintendent Wright and Secondary Education Supervisor, Dewey Eaves regarding the new Accountability Formula.

D.   Presentation to the Board by Elementary Programs Supervisor, Cynthia Lewing, regarding beginning of the year DIBELs data.

5.     Superintendent’s Report:
