1. Meeting Opening:
The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on July 8, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present: Kowonno Greene, Board President; Stacy Alford, Dr. Leah Byles, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, and Donald Remedies.
Absent: Dale Skinner, Terrell Snelling and John Stewart, Board Vice President
President Kowonno Greene called the meeting to order. Josh Jenkins gave the invocation. Mr. Greene led the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Recognition of Visitors:
No visitors were recognized.
3. Consent Agenda:
On motion by Josh Jenkins and second by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:
A. Approve and adopt Regular Board Meeting Minutes of June 10, 2024;
B. Approve 2024-2025 Super App Budget;
C. Approve Achieve Budget Amendment #11;
D. Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3D.
4. Regular Agenda Items:
A. Kristy Brumley, Director of Student Services, updated the Board on new discipline legislation for the 2024-2025 school year. No action was taken. Information only.
B. On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by Josh Jenkins, it was carried to approve and adopt the following policies on first reading:
a. Policy JGCF (New), Behavioral Health Support for Students
b. Policy JGCFA, Behavioral Health Services for Students
C. Mr. Shane Wright, Superintendent, updated the Board on most recent developments with Act 311 from the 2024 legislative session. No action was taken. Information only.
D. On motion by Donald Remedies and second by Everett Guidry, it was carried to approve and adopt the following modified job descriptions as presented.
a. 2024 Teacher Job Description
b. 2024 Counselor Job Description
c. 2024 Instructional Coach job Description
d. 2024 Principal Job Description
e. 2024 Assistant Principal Administrative Assistant Job Description.
E. On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by Josh Jenkins, it was carried to approve and adopt the Supplemental Salary Schedule and Supplement Compensation Application (Act 311 2024).
F. On motion by Everett Guidry and second by Stacy Alford, it was carried to approve and adopt the 2023-2024 Final Annual Operating Budget Revisions as presented.
G. On motion by Josh Jenkins and second by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to approve and adopt the Millage Rates for 2024.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper administrative officials of the Parish of SABINE, State of Louisiana, be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread said taxes, as hereinabove set forth, upon the assessment roll of said Parish for the year 2024, and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for and on behalf of the taxing authority, according to law, and that the taxes herein levied shall become a permanent lien and privilege on all property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and collection thereof shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
The foregoing resolution was read in full, the roll was called on the adoption thereof, and the resolution was adopted by the following votes:
YEAS: Donald Remedies, Dr. Leah Byles, Kowonno Greene, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins and Stacy Alford
NAYS: 0
ABSTAINED: 0
ABSENT: Dale Skinner, Terrell Snelling and John Stewart

H. On motion by Donald Remedies and second by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to approve to give authority for Superintendent to execute legal instrument and adoption of an Act of Donation between Judith Ebarb Myers and Sabine Parish School Board.
