1.       Meeting Opening:

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on May 15, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present:  Dale Skinner, Board President; Kowonno Greene, Board Vice President; Stacy Alford, Dr. Leah Byles, Everett Guidry, Terrell Snelling, Donald Remedies, and John Stewart.

Absent:  Josh Jenkins.

The meeting was called to order by President Dale Skinner and after a moment of silence, Terrell Snelling led the Pledge of Allegiance.

2.      Recognition of Visitors:

A.     The Sabine Parish School Board recognized the Zwolle High School Boys State Champions Basketball Team.

B.     The Sabine Parish School Board recognized the Converse High School Girls State Champions Softball Team.

C.     The Sabine Parish School Board recognized the Many High School Band for their accomplishments at LMEA.

3.      Consent Agenda:

On motion by Kowonno Greene and second by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve and adopt the Consent Agenda as follows:

A.     Approve and adopt Regular Board Meeting Minutes of April 17, 2023;

B.     Approve 2023-2024 Indian Education Grant;

C.     Approve 2022-2023 LA Recruitment and Retention 8(g) and Perkins Grant;

D.     Approve Out-of-State Filed Trip of 15 ZHS students and 2 adults to attend Girls Basketball Camp at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas June 7 – 9, 2023;

E.     Approve and adopt MOU between BPCC and SPSB re Dual Enrollment 2023-2024;

F.     Approve MOU between Grambling State University and SPSB re Teacher Education Program 2023-2024;

G.    Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3G.

4.       Regular Agenda Items:

A.     On motion by Terrell Snelling and second by Everett Guidry, it was carried to approve disposal of old textbooks as presented by Warehouse Manager, Jonathan Campbell.

B.     On motion by Kowonno Greene and second by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve and adopt Updated Appendix A (Schedule of Fees) to Policy JS – Student Fees, Fines and Charges (First Reading).

C.     On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by John Stewart, it was carried to approve MOU between Crimestoppers, Inc. and PSB.

D.     Tene’ Leach, Director of Human Resources, updated the Board regarding projected staffing for 2023-2024 School Year.  No action was taken.

5.      Superintendent’s Report:

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
