1.     Meeting Opening:

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a regular public session on January 9, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at 265 Middle Creek Road, Many, Louisiana, with the following members present:  Terrell Snelling, Board President; Dr. Leah Byles, Board Vice President; Stacy Alford, Kowonno Greene, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, Donald Remedies, Dale Skinner and John Stewart.

Absent:  None.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell Snelling.  Mr. Snelling greeted everyone present and asked Shelly Salter, Sabine Parish Clerk of Court to come forward. 

Swearing-In Ceremony was conducted by Shelley Salter, Sabine Parish Clerk of Court.

A short break was taken at this time.

The Invocation was offered by Josh Jenkins and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.

2.      Recognition of Visitors:

No official recognitions.

3.     Consent Agenda:

On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and second by Donald Remedies Consent Agenda items 3A – 3K were approved as follows:

A.    Approve and adopt of Regular Board Meeting Minutes of December 12, 2022;

B.    Approve and adopt The Sabine Index as the official School Board Journal for 2023;

C.    Approve and adopt of the proposed Board Meeting Dates for 2023-2024;

D.    Approve DLT Grant (INSPIRE:  LA 726-C16) Budget Revisions;

E.    Approve the DLT Grant (Project STEM:  LA 7126-B16) Budget Revisions;

F.    Approve the 2022-2023 Strong School Systems Application Budget;

G.    Approve the 2022-2023 Real-time Early Access to Literacy (REAL) Application Budget;

H.    Approve the 2022-2023 Super App Consolidated Grant Budget Revisions;

I.      Approve the ACHIEVE! Budget Revisions;

J.     Approve the 2022-2023 SPED Camera Grant Budget;

K.    Approve and adopt Consent Agenda Items 3A-3K.

4.     Regular Agenda Items:

A.    On motion by Terrell Snelling and Second by Kowonno Greene, nominations for 2023 Board President were Dale Skinner and Dr. Leah Byles, who declined the nomination.  Vote to approve Dale Skinner as 2023 Board President:

Yea:  Stacy Alford, Kowonno Greene, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, Donald Remedies, Dale Skinner, John Stewart

            Nay:  Dr. Leah Byles, Terrell Snelling

            Abstain:  None

B.    On motion by Terrell Snelling and second by Josh Jenkins, nomination for 2023 Board Vice President was Kowonno Greene. There were no other nominations.  Vote to approve Kowonno Greene as 2023 Board Vice President:

Yea:  Stacy Alford, Dr. Leah Byles, Kowonno Greene, Everett Guidry, Josh Jenkins, Donald Remedies, Dale Skinner, Terrell Snelling, John Stewart.

Nay:  None

Abstain:  None

C.    On motion by Donald Remedies and second by John Stewart, it was carried to approve Administration to sign Applications for Public Service Commission’s Statewide Energy Efficiency Program.

D.    On motion by Kowonno Greene and second by Everett Guidry, it was carried to authorize and approve Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Town of Many / Many PD.

5.      Superintendent’s Report

Informational only.
