1.     Meeting Opening

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on June 14, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell Snelling, Board President; Daron Chandler, Spencer Faust, Donald Garcie, Kowonno Greene, Genevieve Gordon, Donald Remedies and Dale Skinner.

Absent:  Dr. Leah Byles, Vice President

At 5:30 p.m. the regular meeting of the Board began with a Call to Order by President Terrell D. Snelling.  Spencer Faust gave the Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.

2.      Recognition of Visitors

There were no visitors

3.      Consent Agenda

On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Donald Garcie, Consent Agenda Items 3A-3F were approved as follows:

A.    Approve and adopt Regular Board Meeting Minutes of May 10, 2021;

B.    Approve the Head Start CRRS (Covid-19) and the American Rescue Plan Grant #06HE000948 2021-2023;

C.    Approve CEA addendum between Central Louisiana Technical Community College and Sabine Parish School District;

D.    Approve and adopt PBIS Region 6 Final Budget Revision;

E.    Approve 2020-2021 Super App Budget Revision;

F.    Approve Consent Agenda items 3A-3F.

4.     Regular Agenda Items

A.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Dale Skinner it was carried to adopt and approve the 2020-2021 Budget Revisions as presented.

B.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald Remedies, it was carried with one Nay vote by Ms. Gordon, to approve Request for Out-of-State Field Trip with monetary assistance for 4 adults and 13 students from FHS to attend National FFA Convention and participate in National Floriculture Contest scheduled for October 24-31, 2021 in Indianapolis, IN.

C.    On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Kowonno Green, it was carried to approve Pupil Appraisal Coordinator job description.

D.    On motion by Spencer Faust and seconded by Kowonno Greene, it was carried to approve Literacy Coach job description.

E.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Kowonno Greene, it was carried to authorize sale of surplus vehicle to Gabe Stewart for $75.00.

F.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Kowonno Green, it was carried to adopt and approve the following policy as presented (second reading).

1.     DFM – Disposal of Surplus Equipment and Supplies

G.    On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was approved to declare items as surplus and authorize surplus items to be sold at rummage sale. (Ebarb High School)

H.    On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to approve Food Service Bids for the 2021-2022 School Year to:  Frozen, Bread, Meat, Dry Goods & Fresh Produce – Lamm Foods; Ice Cream – Sysco; Milk & Juice – Oak Farms; Paper & Cleaning products – Long’s Preferred Products.

I.      On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald Garcie, it was carried with one Nay vote by Mr. Skinner, to authorize and approve Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Department for SRO’s for the 2021-2022 Fiscal/School Year.

J.     On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to authorize and approve Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Zwolle Police Department.

K.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to authorize the Director of Finance to sign necessary documents with Public Service Commission, SWEPCO and/or vendor to facilitate LED light retrofit at MJHS and MHS campus.

L.     The Board discussed plans to improve “C” schools (Skinner).  No action was taken.
