1.      Meeting Opening

The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on June 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell Snelling, Board President; Dr. Leah Byles, Board Vice President, Daron Chandler, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Genevieve Gordon, and Donald Remedies.

Absent:  Kowonno Greene and Dale Skinner.

At 6:00 p.m., the regular meeting of the board began with Call to Order by President Terrell D. Snelling.  Spencer Faust gave the invocation, and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.

2.      Recognition of Visitors:

Mr. Snelling welcomed Sheriff Elect Aaron Mitchell, Deputy Brad Walker, Converse High School personnel and various members of Terrell Snelling’s family.

On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to add Regular Agenda Item 4H, consider approval of ZES Change Order #6.

3.      Consent Agenda:

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald Garcie, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

A.     Approve and adopt the May 21, 2020 Minutes as signed;

B.     Approve the proposed  2020-2021 Board Meeting dates;

C.     Approve the Strong Start 2020 Application;

D.     Approve the Cooperative Endeavor Agreements between Central Louisiana Technical Community College and Sabine Parish School District;

E.     Approve Consent Agenda Items 3A through 3E.

4.      Regular Agenda:

A.     On motion by Dr. Leah V. Byles and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to approve naming Converse High School’s new basketball court Coach Terrell D. Snelling Basketball Court with Mr. Snelling abstaining.

A short break in the proceedings was taken at this time to let visitors exit if they wished to do so.

B.     On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and seconded by Donald Garcie, it was carried to approve moving the meeting time for regular board meetings to 5:30 p.m. with Mr. Chandler and Mr. Remedies voting nay.

C.     On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve and award Food Service Bids for the 2020-2021 School Year to Vendors recommended by Food Service Supervisor.

D.     On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Dr. Leah V. Byles, it was carried to approve Early Childhood Mental Health Professional job description.

E.     On motion by Dr. Leah V. Byles and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve Instructional Technology Coordinator job description.

F.     Following discussion on risk and future mitigation efforts regarding Cooperative Accounting Management System (CAMS), on motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Dr. Leah V. Byles, it was carried to approve Administration to proceed with updating CAMS and creating a new position for Junior Technology Technician.

G.    On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Genevieve Gordon, it was carried to approve Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding School Resource Officers.

H.     On motion by Donald Remedies and seconded by Genevieve Gordon, it was carried to approve ZES Change Order #6.

5.      Superintendent’s Report:

Informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
