The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in a public session on September 10, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present: Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Donald H. Remedies and Dale Skinner.
The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, after a moment of silence, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.
Absent: Dr. Leah Byles, and Daron Chandler.
Julia Campbell, Teacher at Negreet High School, recognized the participants of the 2018 summer STEP Program.
Mary Gore of Toledo Bend Ministries presented the Board with Complimentary copies of The American Patriot’s Bible.
On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Roderick Davis, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:
· Approve and Adopt August 13, 2018 Minutes as signed
· Approve and Adopt August 20, 2018 Special Called Session Minutes as signed
· Approve Out-of-State Field Trip for 50 students, 4 adults and 2 employees from Negreet High School to Lufkin, Texas on April 18, 2019
· Approve ESSA Consolidated Budget for SY 18-19
· Approve SRCL Budget for SY 18-19
· Approve Pupil Progression Plan 2018-2019 Addendum
· Approve LAGEARUP Contract and Budget for SY 18-19
· Approve SY 18-19 Head Start Five Year Continuation Grant – Year 4 with Bus Supplemental Award
· Approve and Adopt the following policies (first reading):
a. EBBB – School and Student Safety
b. EBBC – Emergency/Crisis Management
c. JGCF – Behavioral Health Services for Students
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Donald Remedies, it was carried to provide monetary assistance for Out-of-State Field Trip for 12 Students, 2 adults and 1 employee from FHS to Indianapolis, IN, October 24 – 28, 2018.
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin it was carried to approve entering into a lease with the Town of Many for use of the property (old football field only) at the old Many Junior High School site for a period of ten (10) years.
On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Donald Garcie, it was carried to approve Classroom Instructor: Regular Education/Special Education Job Descriptions and Salary Schedule Revision
On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to approve IT Department Job Descriptions:
a. District Technology Services Supervisor Job Description and Evaluation
b. District Technology Support Services Coordinator Job Description Revision
c. District Computer Technician Job Description Revision
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin, is was approved to reject all bids received for JOB # 2017-23 SABINE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD WAREHOUSE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER MANY, LOUISIANA
On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was approved for the Administration to enter into a Service Contract between Sabine Parish School Board and High Expectations VI Services, LLC to provide direct instructional services for students who are significantly visually impaired
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin, it was approved to adopt the following policies (second reading):
a. BC – School Board Meetings
b. GBRIBA – Family and Medical Leave
c. JCAB – Student Searches
d. JGC – Student Health Services
e. JCDB – Student Dress Code
f. GBN – Dismissal of Employees
g. GAEAA – Sexual Harassment
h. JCEA – Student Sexual Harassment
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
