The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on June 25, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. for a Special Called Meeting at the Board Meeting Room, 695 Peterson, Many, Louisiana with the following members Present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, William D. Garcie, Spencer Faust, Donald Remedies and Dr. Leah Byles.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  Daron Chandler

Rodney Wilson, Finance Director, read aloud that Notice is hereby given that there will be a public meeting of the Sabine Parish School Board in Sabine Parish and the meeting will be held at its regular meeting place in the board room of the Sabine Parish School Board, located at 695 Peterson Street, Many, LA on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. and at this meeting the Sabine Parish School Board intends to levy/adopt new, continued, renewed, and/or increased ad valorem property tax millage rates for 2018

Upon Motion by William D. Garcie and Seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve the recommendations of Dana Hippler, Food Service Director, and award the bids for Food Service for the 2018-2019 School Year.  The bid awards are as follows:

·        Fresh, Frozen, and Canned Food awarded to SYSCO

·        Paper and Cleaning Supplies awarded to Longs Preferred Products

·        Milk Bid was awarded to Oak Farms Dairy

Upon Motion by Roderick Davis and Seconded by Spencer Faust it was carried to Authorize the Administration to Advertise to Receive Bids for Many Junior High Outdoor Covering

Upon Motion by Roderick Davis and Seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to Authorize and Approve the Superintendent to sign an Architectural Services Proposal for the Many Junior High Outdoor Covering, Sabine Parish School Board, Owner, with Yeager, Watson & Associates, Inc., Architect

Upon Motion by James R. Martin and Seconded by Roderick Davis it was carried to Authorize the Administration to Advertise to Receive Bids for Warehouse / IT Department at the Old MES Campus

Rodney Wilson, Director of Finance presented the Budget Message and Supplementary Information for the Sabine Parish School Board Annual Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019

Dr. Sara Ebarb announced there will be School Board Member Training regarding recent Legislative updates.  Dr. Ebarb also informed the Board Members of the recent acceptance of a Grant for a new Pre-K bus.  There was no further business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
