The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on April 9, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Daron Chandler, William D. Garcie, Dale Skinner, Dr. Leah Byles, Spencer Faust and Donald H. Remedies.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  Roderick Davis

Recognition of 1^st Year Teachers was given by Bill Thomas, President, Sabine Retired Teachers Association.

Recognition of Bus Driver of the Year was given by Sandra Cosio.

Recognition of Teachers and Principal of the Year was given by Shane Wright.

Recognition of Junior Quiz Bowl 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd Place Teams was given by Shelly Rivers.

Recognition of Zwolle High School Class B State Runner-Up Boys Basketball Team was given by Sandra Cosio.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·        Approval and Adoption of March 12, 2018 Minutes, as Signed

·        Approval of the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between Sabine School Board and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program

·        Approval for Out of State Field Trip for 7 students and 2 teachers from Negreet High School to Galveston, Texas on May 21 – 23, 2018

·        Approval for Out of State Field Trip for 59 students and 9 teachers from Zwolle Elementary to Lufkin, Texas on April 11, 2018

·        Approval of Career Technical Education Teacher5 Handbook 2018-19

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve and authorize the Superintendent and Board President to Sign an Audit Services Agreement with Fortenberry & Ballard, PC, Certified Public Accountants, for the Fiscal Years Ending June 30, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to approve and authorize the Superintendent and Board President to sign an Agreed Upon Procedures Engagement Letter/Agreement with Fortenberry & Ballard, PC, Certified Public Accountants.

On motion by Dr. Leah Byles and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to authorize the Director of Finance to Sign a Fiscal Agency Agreement Extension/Amendment with Sabine State Bank for the term July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2020.

On motion by William D. Garcie and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to authorize the Sabine Parish School Board to Serve as Employer and Fiscal Agent for the Cooperative Endeavor Accounting System Programmer and Approval of said Job Description.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve and adopt the Following Revised Policy (Second Reading):

A.     File:  DFAA, Industrial Tax Exemptions

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
