The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on January 9, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Daron Chandler, Dale Skinner, Dr. Leah Byles and Donald H. Remedies.

 

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

 

Absent:  None

 

Presentation of the DAR Good Citizen Scholarship Contest Winners was given by Katie Lombardino.

 

Recognition of Dewey Eaves as Winner of Region VI LACUE 2016 Secondary Teacher of the Year, LACUE 2016 State Secondary Teacher of the Year and as the LACUE 2016 Overall Educator of the Year was given by Superintendent Sara P. Ebarb.

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follow:

 

·        Approval and Adoption of December 12, 2016, Minutes, as Signed

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to open nominations for President.

 

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Spencer Faust, Terrell D. Snelling was nominated for president.  There were no other nominations.

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to cease nominations for President.

 

On motion by Donald H. Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to open nominations for Vice-President.

 

On motion by Donald H. Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, James R. Martin was nominated for Vice-President.  There were no other nominations.

 

On motion by Spencer Faust and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to cease nominations for Vice-President.

 

On motion by Donald H. Remedies and seconded by Dr. Leah Byles, it was carried to accept nominations for President and Vice-President.

 

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to accept the Auditors’ Financial Report as presented.

 

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
