The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on November 14, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Daron Chandler, Dale Skinner, and Donald H. Remedies.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  Roderick Davis and Dr. Leah Byles

Introduction of the 2016-2017 Aspiring Leaders was given by Sandra Cosio.

Recognition of 2015 and 2016 Regional and State GUMBO Games Students was given by Carla Parrie.

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·       Approval and Adoption of October 17, 2016, Minutes, as Signed

·       Approval for Out-of-State Field Trip for 20 students and 2 adults from Negreet High School to Mt.                                                                  b

·       Approval of the LA 4 Early Childhood 2016-2017 Budget

·       Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between the State of Louisiana Department of Education and Sabine Parish School Board

·       Approval of Update for Educational Diagnostician Job Description

·       Approval of Change in Director of Business Services Title to Director of Finance

·       Approval of the Head Start Annual Report 2015-2016

·       Approval and Adoption of the Following Revised Policies (First Reading)

A.     File:  GAK, Personnel Records

B.     File:  DJE, Purchasing

C.    File:  GBA, Employment Contracts and Compensation

D.    File:  EBBH, Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

E.     File:  IDDF, Education of Students with Exceptionalities

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to adopt the Resolution and authorize the Administration to Enter into a Membership Agreement with the LSBA Region VII Education Service Center, Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS)

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to authorize the Administration to Sign an MOU with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

On motion by William D. Garcie and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve the Contract with Louisiana Automated Fingerprint Identification System and Sabine Parish School Board.

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to Award the Bid for Desktop Computers for the Time Period December 1, 2016 through November 30, 2017 to the low bidder, TKO Education.

Presentation and Discussion of E-Rate Play was given by Technology and Business Departments.

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
