The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on September 12, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Leah Byles, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Dale Skinner, Daron Chandler, and Donald H. Remedies.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  None

A Presentation of summer adventures was given from 4-H students.

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·        Approval and Adoption of August 8, 2016, Minutes, as Signed

·        Approval for Out-of-State Field Trip for 98 students and 8 adults from Zwolle High School to go to Houston, Texas on September 29, 2016

·        Approval of Sabine 21^st CCLC Cohort 9.0 Approved LDOE Budget

·        Approval of the 2016-2017 Head Start Five Year Grant Continuation Grant – Year 2

·        Approval of the 2016-2017 8G Student Enhancement Block Grant Budget

A Legislative and Policy Update was given by Attorney Neal Johnson with Hammonds, Sills, Adkins and Guice.

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve Out-of-State Travel for 1 adult and 2 Florien High School Varsity Cheerleaders selected as All-American to perform in Orlando, Florida on December 27, 2016.  Monetary assistance requested for 1 adult and 2 students.

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to Declare as Surplus Equipment and Authorize Disposal Practices to Occur for a 1992 Year Model Bus.

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to authorize the administration to advertise to receive bids for desktop computers – award period shall be December 1, 2016 through November 30, 2017.

Notice was given that at its meeting to be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Parish School Board Office, 695 Peterson Street, Many, Louisiana, the Parish School Board of the Parish of Sabine, State of Louisiana, plans to consider adopting a resolution ordering and calling an election to be held in Zwolle School district No. 61 of Sabine Parish to authorize the renewal of an ad valorem tax.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve and adopt the Following Revised Policies (Second Reading)

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
