The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on August 8, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at Many Elementary School/Pre-K Center, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Leah Byles, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Dale Skinner, Daron Chandler, and Donald H. Remedies.

 

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

 

Absent:  None

 

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·        Approval and Adoption of August 1, 2016, Special Called Meeting Minutes, as signed

·        Approval and Adoption of the Following Revised Policies (First Reading)

A.    File:  BH, School Board Ethics

B.    File:  DIEA, Preservation of School Board Records Due to Legal Action

C.    File:  EBBG, Hazardous Substances

D.    File:  GBD, Employment of Personnel

E.    File:  GBI, Evaluation of Personnel

F.     File:  GBL, Tenure

G.    File:  IDCH, Home Study Program

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to Grant Substantial Completion on new Many Elementary School/Pre-K Center.

 

On motion by Daron Chandler and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to Adopt the Resolution Authorizing the Director of Business Services to Sign and Approve a Lease Agreement with the Village of Pleasant Hill.

 

On motion by William D. Garcie and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to Move the October 10, 2016, Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. to October 17, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. (10th conflicted with Fall Break)

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Roderick Davis, it was carried to Move the May 8, 2017, Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. to May 15, 2017, Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. (8th conflicted with Graduations).

 

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by William D. Garcie, it was seconded to Award bid for Propane for Negreet High School and Ebarb High School for the 2016-2017 School Year.

 

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
