The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on February 8, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Leah Byles, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Daron Chandler, and Donald H. Remedies.

The meeting was called to order by President Terrell D. Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  Dale Skinner

Recognitions and Awards to Sabine Soil and Water Conservation District 2015 State Poster Winners were presented by Chris Pearce, SWCD Board Member.

Quiz Bowl Teams and Quiz Bowl All Tournament Teams were recognized by Shelly Rivers Student Support Services Coordinator.

Florien High School Girls’ Basketball Coach Dewain Strother was recognized by Sandra Cosio, Director of Student Support Services.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·        Approval and Adoption of January 11, 2016, Minutes, as signed

·        Approval for Out-of-State Field Trips:

A.     Converse High School – 4 Students and 1 Adult to Panola College in Carthage, Texas for the Invitational Welding Contest on February 11, 2016

B.     Ebarb High School – 4 Students and 1 Adult to Panola College in Carthage, Texas for the Invitational Welding Contest on February 11, 2016

C.     Zwolle High School – 2 Students and 1 Adult to Panola College in Carthage, Texas for the Invitational Welding Contest on February 11, 2016

·        Approval of the Early Childhood Community Network Pilots Lead Agency Grant 15-16

·        Approval of the Early Childhood Community Network Pilots Remaining Start Up Grant 15-16

·        Approval of the Sabine Parish School Board Head Start 2016 Self Assessment

·        Authorization and Approval for the Administration to release an RFP for E-Rate Category 1 and Category 2 Funding (Form 470 USAC)

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve the 2016-2017 School Calendar.

On motion by Donald H. Remedies and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Sabine Parish School Board and Zwolle Police Department for School Resource Officer.

On motion by Donald H. Remedies and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve the Job Description for School Resource Officer.

On motion by William D. Garcie and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to authorize and approve School Food Service to purchase MOSAIC Software, License, Support, Services and Annual Subscription.

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to authorize and approve School Food Service to purchase NutraKids Software, License, Support, Services and  Annual Subscription.

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Roderick Davis, it was carried to approve Change Order #4 (FOUR) for the Project to Construct a New Many Elementary School.

There was no business under the Superintendent’s report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
