The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on November 19, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. for a Special Called Meeting at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present: Terrell D. Snelling, President, James R. Martin, Vice-President, Daron Chandler, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Donald H. Remedies, and Dale Skinner.

The meeting was called to order by President Snelling, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve and adopt the Minutes of November 9, 2015, as Signed.

Two qualified applicants had submitted their names for consideration of the Ward 2 and 3/District 2 vacancy. Dr. Leah Byles and Susan L. Duhon both addressed the Board up to five minutes regarding her qualifications as a candidate for the vacancy.  Each Board member cast their respective vote with Dr. Leah Byles receiving a unanimous majority. 

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve and adopt a Resolution to Appoint School Board Representative for Ward 2 and 3/District 2 until a Special Election can be Held and to Call a Special Election with a Primary Election Date Set for November 8, 2016, and the Special General Election Date Set for December 10, 2016, with Qualifying Dates Set for July 20, 2016 through July 22, 2016.

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, information only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
