The Parish School Board of Many, Louisiana, Sabine Parish, met in public session on August 10, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:  J.A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President, Terrell D. Snelling, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Daron Chandler, Donald H. Remedies, Dale Skinner, and James R. Martin.

The meeting was called to order by President Veuleman, the Invocation was offered, the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered and the President welcomed the visitors.

Absent:  None

On motion by James R. Martin and seconded by Terrell D. Snelling, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

·       Approval and Adoption of July 13, 2015, Minutes, as Signed

·       Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between Sabine Parish School Board and Northwest Louisiana Technical College

·       Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between Sabine Parish School Board and Northwestern State University

·       Approval of the LA 4 Early Childhood 2015-2016 Budget

A Legislative and Policy Update was given by Bob Hammonds, Attorney at Law.

On motion by Daron Chandler and second by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve Out-of-State Travel for 8 Florien High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleaders selected as All American to perform in Orlando, Florida on January 1, 2016.  Monetary assistance approved for the 8 students.

Presentation of Test Scores was given by Debra Lee.

On motion by Dale Skinner and second by Daron Chandler, it was carried to approve the Migrant Education Recruiter Job Description.

On motion by Dale Skinner and second by Terrell D. Snelling, it was carried to approve the ELL Paraprofessional Job Description.

On motion by Dale Skinner and second by Terrell D. Snelling, it was carried to adopt the Revised Policy JR:  IFDA Student Privacy and Education Records, on First Reading.

On motion by Terrell D. Snelling and second by James R. Martin, it was carried to Authorize the Administration to Receive Bids for Desktop Computers – Award Period Shall be December 1, 2015 through November 30, 2016.

On motion by Daron Chandler and second by Donald H. Remedies, it was carried to approve a One Year Leave without Pay to Amanda Withers.

On motion by Roderick Davis and second by Spencer Faust, the Sales Tax District No. 1 (Many) Budget Revision failed to carry by the following votes:

YEAS:  Roderick Davis and Spencer Faust

NAYS:  Daron Chandler, William D. Garcie, James R. Martin, Donald H. Remedies, Dale Skinner, Terrell D. Snelling and J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman

ABSTAIN:  None

ABSENT:  None

There was no business under the Superintendent’s Report, informational only.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
