The Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on December 3, 2012, at 6:30 P. M. at the regular meeting place of said Board with the following members present:  J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President, Terrell D. Snelling, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Imon Jones, Donald H. Remedies, and Dale Skinner.

 

Absent:  James R. Martin

 

The meeting was called to order by President Veuleman, the Invocation was offered, and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.

Sandra Cosio, Director of Student Support Services, introduced the participants of the Aspiring Leadership Program for 2012-2013, to the Board as follows:

Rodney Wilson, Accounting Manager, gave an update and led a discussion regarding the Teacher Salary Schedule.  Information only, no action was taken.

 

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Terrell Snelling, it was carried to authorize the Administration to purchase two (2) Cargo Vans, one for School Food Service and one for the Technology Department. 

 

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Donald Remedies, it was carried to purchase the Yale Model #GP030VX Forklift for $23.176, and a trailer designed to transport a forklift.

 

Quotes received on the forklift were:

 

1.     Yates – Model # GP030 VX - $23, 176

2.     Hyster – Model #H30FT - $24,003.28

3.     Clark – Model #C 15C - $16,861.00

 

On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by Terrell Snelling, it was carried to authorize the Authorize the Administration to advertise for the purchase of  2013, 84 passenger bus for Negreet High School.

 

The Superintendent’s report was for information only.  No action was taken.
