The Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on August 6, 2012, at 6:30 P. M. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present:
J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President, Terrell D. Snelling, Vice-President, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, James R. Martin, Donald H. Remedies, Roderick Davis and Dale Skinner.
Absent: Imon Jones
The meeting was called to order by President Veuleman, the Invocation was offered and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda, as follows:
· Approval of July 2, 2012 and July 12, 2012, Minutes as Signed.
· Approval of Extended School Year Services Budget.
· Personnel
A. Approval of Reduction in Force (RIF) as a result of Financial Exigency:
1. Shelton Roark, Paraprofessional, Sabine Career Academy, effective June 30, 2012 (Grant Funding Ended).
2. Sonya Williams, Parent Advocate, Head Start, effective July 25, 2012 (Reduction in Grant Funding).
3. Odis Faust, Behavioral Technician, Negreet High School, effective July 15, 2012(General Fund Budget Cut).
4. Jerome Newsome, Behavioral Technician, Many Elementary School, effective July 15, 2012 (General Fund Budget Cut).
5. Marsha Hayes, Social Worker, effective July 15, 2012 (General Fund Budget Cut).
6. Margaret Kemp, Social Worker, effective July 15, 2012 (General Fund Budget Cut).

B. Termination Due to Student Leaving District
1. Sharon Johnson, Child Specific Paraprofessional, Florien High School, effective May 17, 2012.
Nancy Pratt, PCAL Representative presented the Sabine Parish School Board with a dividend check in the amount of $21,184.26.
Kendall Miley was recognized as the Oil and Gas Safety Course Instructor for Sabine Parish.
On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to move the September 3, 2012 (Labor Day) Regular Scheduled Board Meeting to September 4, 2012.
On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve and adopt the following Revised School Board Policies:

On motion by Terrell Snelling and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to approve the Sabine Parish School board COMPASS Implementation Guide (Regulations for the Evaluation and Assessment of School Personnel).
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by Spencer Faust, it was carried to grant right of way to Cleco for a certain tract of land located in Section 23.T7NR11W, Sabine Parish.
On motion by Dale Skinner and seconded by James R. Martin, it was carried to approve TIF Grant Participation.
On motion by Donald Garcie and seconded by Dale Skinner, it was carried to approve the agreement with Saint Ann’s Catholic Church and the Diocese of Shreveport of use of their parking lot.
The Superintendent’s Report was informational only, no action was taken.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
