The Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on May 7, 2012, at 10:00 A.M.,at the Many Junior High School Gymnasium for a brief School Board Meeting and the annual Retirement Awards Program.  In attendance were:  J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Imon Jones, James R. Martin, and Donald H. Remedies.

 

Absent:   Terrell D. Snelling and Dale Skinner 

 

A welcome was given by J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President of the Sabine Parish School Board and the Invocation was offered by Roderick Davis.

 

The Board then convened in business as follows:

 

On motion by Imon Jones and seconded by William D. Garcie, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

 

I.  Approval of Out-of-State Travel

 

A.  Two Florien High School  FBLA Students and Sponsor to attend National Conference & Competition  in San Antonio, Texas, the last week of June 2012.  Monetary assistance requested.

 

B.  Pleasant Hill High School Eighth Grade and teacher to travel to Dallas, TX , on May 10-11, 2012.  Expenses paid by 8th Grade Account.

C.  Approval of the Transportation Committee’s recommendation to allow Sabine Parish school buses and/or activity buses to be used by the Sabine Parish Tourist Commission  for the Bassmaster Elite Tournament, June 9-10, 2012, for shuttling purposes.
