The Sabine Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on October 17, 2011, at 6:30 p. m. at the School Board Meeting Room, with the following members present:  J. A. ”Buddy Veuleman, President, Terrell D. Snelling, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Imon Jones, Donald H. Remedies, Dale Skinner, and Denyse Williams.

Absent:  None

The meeting was called to order by the President, the Invocation was offered, and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.

Many Elementary School was presented a plaque in recognition of their accomplishment of being a 2011 National Blue Ribbon Award School.

On motion by Imon Jones and seconded by Donald Remedies, it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

• Approval of Minutes of the October 3, 2011, Minutes, as Signed
   

• Approval of Out-of-Parish Travel

1. 1. Negreet Pre-K students to travel to Lufkin, TX, to visit the Ellen Trout Zoo on November 4, 2011 – Expenses paid by Universal Pre-K Center

   2. Florien High School 4H to travel to Dallas, TX to visit Six Flags on October 15, 2011, expenses to be paid by FHS 4H.  The Board was polled and there was no opposition.

A representative of Siemens Industry, Inc. presented an Energy Profile Report for Sabine Parish Schools, June 2010 – May 2011.  No action was taken.  Information only.

Under Superintendent’s Report a presentation was made by Dr. Ebarb, Superintendent, and Debra Lee, Director of Federal Programs, in reference to the 2011 School and District Performance Scores.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
