The Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on September 8, 2011, at 6:00 P. M. for a Special Called Meeting, at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present: J. A. “Buddy” Veuleman, President, Terrell D Snelling, Vice President, Roderick Davis, Spencer Faust, William D. Garcie, Imon Jones, Donald H. Remedies, Dale Skinnner and Denyse Williams.
All members were present at this meeting.
The meeting was called to order by the President, the Invocation was offered and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.
This meeting was called for Interview Sessions for Candidates for Superintendent.
The following candidates were interviewed: Eddie Jones, Jr., Teresa Durrett, Ph. D., and Sara Ebarb, Ed.D.
The selection of final candidates for Superintendent was conducted by passing out three sheets of paper to each Board Member, who in turn wrote the names of the finalists of their choice and then signed their name on the ballot. The votes were then tallied by Robert Lewis, Business Manager. Mr. Clay Corley then read the Board Members name and their selection for the top 3 candidates. The votes were then tallied and the following candidates were chosen: Marion A. Chapman – 8 votes, Eddie Jones, Jr. – 8 votes, Dr. Sara Ebarb – 9 votes, and Dr. Teresa Durrett – 1 vote. The top three candidates will be interviewed again in executive session on September 13, 2011, to decide the final candidate to whom will be offered a contract to be Superintendent of Sabine Parish Schools.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
