The Parish School Board of Sabine Parish, Louisiana, met in public session on November 1, 2010, at 6:30 P. M. at the regular meeting place of said Board, with the following members present: Imon Jones, President, Denyse Williams, Vice-President, Roderick Davis, James W. House, Jack Sanders, Donnie F. Sistrunk, Sr., J. A. ”Buddy” Veuleman, and J. Randall Veuleman.
Absent: Harold Stewart
The President called the meeting to order, the Invocation was offered and the Pledge of Allegiance was rendered.
Mr. Gene Wright, Principal at Negreet High School presented a plaque along with words of gratitude to Ms. Elaine Branch, RN, and Ms. Suzette Laroux, employees at NHS, for their successful efforts in saving April Martin’s (student) life.
On motion by J. A. ”Buddy” Veuleman and seconded by Donnie F. Sistrunk, Sr., it was carried to approve the Consent Agenda, as follows:
Approval and Adoption of Minutes of October 18, 2010, as Signed
Approval of REAP Revision #1 FY 2010-2011
Approval of NCLB Consolidated Application Amendment #1 FY 2010-2011

An informative Head Start Program Training for Board Members was conducted by Melyssa Snelling, Supervisor.
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by James W. House, it was carried to approve and adopt Sabine Parish School Board Policy, File: DIBA, American Recovery and Reinvestment Reporting Requirements (Second Reading).
On motion by Donnie F.Sistrunk. Sr., and seconded by Denyse Williams, it was carried to approve out-of-state travel and monetary assistance for Lincoln Pearce, Florien High student and 4-H member to attend and participate in the National 4-H Club Congress in Atlanta, GA, on November 26-30, 2010, in recognition of Lincoln’s many accomplishments.
On motion by Roderick Davis and seconded by J. Randall Veuleman, it was carried to advertise for foundation repair and track re-surfacing at Many High School.
On motion by Donnie F. Sistrunk, Sr. and seconded by James W. House, it was carried to declare (if needed) a Financial Exigency as a result of State budget cuts.
The Expulsion Appeal for Student with SID #6050091, was cancelled, because parents wished no longer to appeal.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
